#WriteUgly. Write bad. Write worse. Forget your high school's censorship rules in that one creative writing class. Indulge in the violence of a 1930s noir. Make yourself blush with that steamy scene you always wanted to write. Let your characters run wild. Who's stopping you?

#WriteUgly. Write bad. Write worse. Write about Icarus. It's hardly new, but you can make it fresh again. Start with his tragic fall, his childish arrogance. Romanticize the sun that loved the golden boy so much it burned him. Don't be afraid if it's hideous or trite. Just write.
