@henrikuiper i don’t get it either… what is the ‘worst’ that can happen???
thousends of enthusiasts learning about @ibmz and z/OS ??? weird… price of USD 120 per year absolutly fine, i would even pay more but not more then USD 450 for example… #mainframe #zpdt #zd&t #learnerseditiom

Good to see it’s not just easily available to anyone who just wants to play with z.
Imagine the horror if random people just learned how #mainframe works and we’d get all this new talent onboarding in our ecosystem.
Finally finished #adventofcode in my intended nerdy environment (VSCode, Flask, REXX and Python) running on #zos #zpdt
Takes me 7 minutes to setup the environment for but here's the result :)

So.......network speeds for ZDNT/ZPDT?
I'm getting 120KB/s at max here .. even tried the ethtool -K <device> gro off and things....
Running 'emily' on Ubuntu 20 (in a ProxMox KVM)
What speeds are you getting? Any tips?
I'm running #ApacheSpark #bigdata engine with a #IBM JDK on the #Unix partition of an IBM #Mainframe emulated with #zPDT on top of a #Debian
I have to say I am impressed: #zLinux running on top of #zPDT running on top of #LinuxAMD64 running on top of #KVM (what else would I run for virt?) running on top of Linux running on a 2.9ghz skylake CPU. And still topped at 416 concurrent #INFOCOM players (inside docker)! Yeah!
Xmas is traditionally ASCII time in my world. Telnet over to https://t.co/g9mdYb51oT to play the almost complete collection of #INFOCOM #adventure games. Over 20 great/unforgettable adventure games from the comfort of your #shell. Works great also from z/VM and from z/OS #TSO !
And it’s all running on z/Linux on top of #zPDT
@anka_shugol @ConnorKrukosky @rossmauri would love a zPDT “burnt” on a Pi... it’s not about speed, it’s about access! #zPDT #IBMz #zIBM
@ConnorKrukosky @pwnovak @faultywarrior @zarchasmpgmr @DrScriptt @anka_shugol @jaytay if #IBMz trusted more people and put #zPDT out there for free development and experience, the future would look bright! #PlayTheFrame
