Harvard needs to make several reforms that might allow it to regain alumni, students’, staff, and the public’s trust, writes @HASilverglate, cofounder of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. https://t.co/jgZnj5QAaR
This editorial by @HASilverglate in the Boston Globe gets a ton right about what needs to happen at Harvard next. These changes can happen.

Last week, I announced my campaign to run for the Harvard Board of Overseers. Check out this video by fellow petition candidate @lessin where we discuss the ongoing chaos at @Harvard and what we think could help fix it.

For any alum of any Harvard branch: undergraduate, graduate or professional.
Note: Harvey Silverglate (@hasilverglate) is one of the great leaders in the free speech movement. Co founder of FIRE and much more.
Getting him on the Harvard Board of Overseers would be huge:

TO THE MEMBERS OF MY OPT-IN LIST – THOSE WHO HAVE OPTED TO RECEIVE MY OCCASIONAL COLUMNS AND ARTICLES:
Today I am not sending you anything I have written. Instead, I’m writing to inform you of a decision I’ve made.
Only Rip Van Winkle is unaware of the dire developments at Harvard University in recent years, culminating in the multiple mis-steps of recently resigned President Claudine Gay after only a few months in office. As a result of years of Harvard’s decline in terms of free speech, academic freedom, and fairness in disciplinary proceedings against students and faculty members, I’ve decided to make my third (and this time hopefully successful) run for The Harvard Board of Overseers. I need 3,400 Harvard alumni signatures by January 31, 2024, raised significantly from the 250 signatures that got me on the ballot in 2009. I seek the support of my fellow Harvad alumni. (I’m a member of the Harvard Law School Class of 1967.) Please follow the directions on my website (https://t.co/0Qlz7LjWpr) If you are a graduate of any of Harvard’s schools (college, law school, medical school, divinity school, etc.), please add your contact and class information on my portal at the link provided (https://t.co/dGeN1RBuEW).
This is done by following these directions:

I was recently interviewed by Australian podcaster @alexastathakis on various issues dear to my heart, free speech being among them.
While I don’t often share interviews, this one is sufficiently interesting, I think, to promote to my followers.

Is freedom of speech under siege in the West?!?
Check out this incredible podcast with the legendary @HASilverglate ! Beyond honored to speak with Harvey, and listen to his views & concerns. #FreeSpeech#USA#autocracy#democracy

Yesterday’s Boston Herald featured my commentary on the reaction of some college students to Israel’s counter-attack against Hamas.

I’m posting an interview of myself by Bill Newman. Bill is an old friend, not only from my days with the ACLU of Massachusetts but, if memory serves, I hired him to work with me many years ago. (Time flies, as the saying goes.) @WHMP

Today I am taking the unusual step of sending you a column about rather than by me. It’s an interview conducted recently by Kris Olson, a writer for The Massachusetts Lawyer Weekly.

In this morning’s Boston Herald, you’ll find my commentary on the media’s treatment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., son of the assassinated Robert F. Kennedy: https://t.co/fZPr3TahrG @bostonherald
I’ll leave it for you decide which was the more substantive, serious interview. Which interviewer asked the more perceptive questions. Which interview displayed more objectivity.
Within the past few days I’ve done numerous interviews concerning my co-counsel representation of John Eastman, two of which have been particularly interesting due to the contrast they provide:
