Just rang @BulbUK & @SouthernRailUK fully expecting to spend ages on hold & then be extremely frustrated when I finally spoke to someone. But I quickly got through to a person who was clear, understood the issue & helped me with it. Good customer service is possible - thank you!

There may be no blanket ban on being physically present with others this Christmas, but many of us have still had to cancel plans/are watching for the second line every morning and wondering if we will have to cancel. So, this poem seems pretty relevant this year, too.

@JamieRead76 @ChrisHowles @adamsgordon I felt the same after the Paris bombings in 2015 when it was thought (rightly) that the bombers were in Brussels. I happened to be in Brussels during the 2016 bombings and was so, so glad to be there and share in at least the first few days of people coming to terms with it.

@JamieRead76 @ChrisHowles @adamsgordon I agree with Jamie - it's not bizarre, it's the natural result of loving people and so aching to share in their joys and sorrows. My flatmate at Oak Hill had the same experience when Carlisle was flooded in 2015 and she couldn't be there. 1/2

@ChrisHowles Be prepared that it might be more of a shock for you and Ros - I suspect Covid stuff will feel more different for you cos you've spent a lot of your lives in the UK not under those rules, in a way that for the kids it may just be part of the general strangeness of the UK.

@ChrisHowles But I think it was good for me to feel a tiny bit of what it's like when British Christians patronise brothers and sisters from other cultures and act like we know better than they do what's going on in their country/church and what's needed there. I hope I've learnt from it...
