@seanparkerphoto Hey. Winter-time view of Milky Way plane can serve as a charming subject too. Cassiopeia to Auriga and on through Canis Major . . . good stuff. With a proper dark sky that view along the plane can really glow.
@seanparkerphoto Milky Way gonna disappear? The whole frickin' galaxy? That really should be on the news ! At least it's coming back next spring. Whew.
@cartermurphy218 @WendyAn622 @rogerninercopy Also, viewing the 12hour timelapse from regional mountaintop cams revealed another peak in activity in the midnight-12:30 timeframe, and again around 3:30. Wish I could have stayed up all night to watch it evolve and flow.
@cartermurphy218 @WendyAn622 @rogerninercopy Sweet. Wife and I were viewing that display from Carson City at that same moment. The 20ish minutes centered on 9:45ish were a definite peak in activity. Captured this shot with iPhone 14 pro at 9:45 from our location. Viewing towards NE.
@ALERTWildfire@ALERTCalifornia I've tried Facebook, twice, with no response. The Alert network needs help. Incredibly frustrating to use timelapse. Why are the cameras so spastically unstable? Please restore their stability.
@GuntherEagleman Are you one of the millions who thinks the $$$ stops in Ukraine? Or stops in Israel (who has received US support long before this current war). Follow the money. Most comes back to the US to pay for weapons. War is great for business.
@DrewTumaABC7 Great point. When I saw the aurora, late April 2023, Carson City NV, it was dim milky white light, to naked eye. Similar to zodiacal light. Most folks would not have even recognized it. Smartphone cams are good detectors revealing the color.
@UCB_CSSL Thanks CSSL. Excuse me for having OCD concerning the subject of Sierra snowfall amounts. ;-) I hate to see awesome storms of the past not get their deserved kudos.
@UCB_CSSL I found that 1/22/1997 date because I was checking the numbers for Dec 21-22, 1996. The 33" and 18" recorded from that storm seem underestimated, but probably correct. That was a benchmark storm.
