Nope, not me, I am not the one that just tried to code in ChatGPT mode when the app changed and I did not notice it. Not me that burned 2 full resets trying to figure out why it would just not work. I don't know who that was. App updates didn't trick me.

It will require multiple very expensive Nvidia chips or a bunch of Mac Studio 512gbs

But look at the slope, not the Y intercept. Over the last year local AI has become SIGNIFICANTLY more efficient and required way less compute

The smartest brains in the world are all attacking the compute problem as hard as they can

This is another step in that direction. And within a year or two, you'll be able to run this on a Mac Mini

Claude just dropped the biggest “we don’t trust you anymore” move of 2026.

Starting July 8, 2026, Anthropic is rolling out mandatory identity verification for Free, Pro, and Max users.

You’ll have to scan a government-issued ID + do a face scan through their partner Persona Identities. Yes, even on the free tier. The new privacy policy quietly added language that lets them demand age and identity verification from pretty much anyone.

This isn’t some edge-case thing for heavy API users. This is coming for the average person who just wants to chat with Claude.

Why now?

• Heavy abuse / jailbreaks
• Regulatory pressure (especially around age verification and high-risk use cases)
• Anthropic clearly decided “trust but verify” is the new baseline

This is a massive shift. Once one frontier lab normalizes handing over your government ID + biometric scan to talk to an AI, the rest will follow fast.

We spent years screaming “AI-powered!” like it was a golden ticket, and the audience response is basically “shut up and show me something useful.” The second the hype feels louder than the actual value, people check out — or worse, get suspicious.
