What’s the one thing all #smb & #retwit operators have in common across all industries?
Waste disposal.
And just like any other expense that’s not actively managed, it could be costing you more money than it should!!!

Franchise contracts are your golden ticket in a waste business sale, especially in 2025’s hot M&A climate. Long-term, low-risk, tech-enhanced deals can push valuations toward the high end (8-10x EBITDA).
@irentdumpsters This was one of the reasons why people used us. When they called there was a human that answered. No call center bs either, a real life human who worked in the office and could solve your problems or answer questions.
Multiples on waste companies are some of the highest in the #SMB universe but they’re not as high margin.
A $3-5 million in revenue waste hauling company, with good contracts can easily bring 6-7x EBITDA.
Get to $5mil in EBITDA and you’ll be able to get 8-10x depending on the mix of services and contracts in place.
@irentdumpsters This is a great story. We had a similar situation except my mentor was working on a roll up and said go put routes together in this area and then in 4-5 yrs we’ll buy you guys out! And that’s what we did.
@sweatystartup Agree 💯 but don’t underestimate how much those dumb rich people know that you do not when trying to compete with them.
Experience can outperform talent.

@SullyBusiness 1, 2, or 3. When the AC is out, you’re fixing it. When the toilet is overflowing, you’re fixing it. When the lights won’t turn on, you’re fixing it. All the rest are somewhat expendable.
@Eloc96 Unfortunately these are always tough. You may be able to lean on any service quality clauses in the contract if they’re there. If there are no outs, you can try to negotiate a lower buyout but without specifics it’s hard to know what’s possible in a case like this.
How often do you think about the garbage bill?
Most residential inside city limits is billed through the city & tied to your water bill. Rural areas typically have a higher bill due to less density for the hauler.
Commercial waste hauling services typically have more options therefore more leverage on the hauler for lower prices. In most cases these rates are highly negotiable. Hiring a professional to help you navigate these contracts can save you time and a lot of money.
@girdley@Molson_Hart This one made me literally LOL. Girdley, I’ve always admired your teams ability to find the perfect fit for your stores. Right at the edge of town!
