βActs 20:24
But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
@lee_mystro@mymixtapez Who knows? No church has perfect doctrine or perfect obedience.
Even the smallest sin is enough to make us lawbreakers. Thank God for Jesus. No man can boast, but they do sadly.
"For God has consigned everyone to disobedience so that He may have mercy on everyone."
-Romans 11:32
@erickeam12@mymixtapez Did you miss the order? "Neither do I condemn you." Gospel/law.
I tell my kid not to sin all the time as a loving father. Guess what he does?
Now, guess what I won't do?
James 2:10
"Whoever keeps the whole law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."
@PlumblineFaith Logic?
There are no flawless church who can say "We alone are the true church" Thatβs just pride masquerading as humility.
The church is scattered across denominations.
We all see through a glass dimly.
Let the wheat and tares grow together until the harvest. Jesus said it.
@pudicat11@lumen7jay@sola_chad As if we would obey some perfect book.
The book does what it's intended, it's suffice in that it gives the hearer Jesus, through the law and gospel.
Is He not enough?
There are no errors with Him.
@lumen7jay@pudicat11@sola_chad The infinite bears the finite.
Even in errors, God's will always trumps.
Being inspired or God-breathed is not the same as the book literally falling from heaven from God himself.
@mustardseed63@pudicat11@RAPursley76 Christ is our sanctification.
We return to him again and again.
"It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, redemption." -Corinthians 1:30
@pudicat11@RAPursley76@mustardseed63 On the grounds of "doing good"
I don't need to equate being a decent human being with spiritual growth. What a trap.
Unbelievers outdo us all the time in love and generosity. I can do 1 million good deeds and 1 bad will rule me out. The standard is beyond us. Thank God for Jesus.
@pudicat11@RAPursley76@mustardseed63 Paul knew that in Romans 7.
"For I know that good itself does not dwell in me"
The burden of pretending is lifted.
An overlooked aspect of the good news.
We live by faith not by sight, neither outwardly or inward.
There is no need to measure, I am exposed and stripped naked.
