What’s Next for @llamao_

Let me be clear from the start. We don’t want Llamao to become an overpromise, underdeliver project. This post is simply for those who truly care about Llamao and want to understand our long term vision.

1/ My thoughts

Let me share my perspective. We already have, and will continue to have, hundreds of thousands of NFT projects. But less than 1%-5% ever become mainstream IP. Reaching that level requires passion, creativity, and an insane amount of persistence.

For Llamao, we’ve already burned a lot of money just to build the fundamentals of the IP. And we will have to spend even more to take Llamao to the next level. Without deep conviction, Llamao will fade into the noise of other NFT projects.

In the short term, an NFT project’s value can come from building hype before launch (thanks to WLs), or big KOLs/Builders using NFTs for PFP. But in the long term, only the IP speaks for itself. A strong character, lore, and culture will survive. Utility doesn't matter much. Sometimes it even distorts the pure vision of what an NFT project should be. So if you hold Llamao for “utility,” you should rethink your expectations.

2/ My bet

Every bubble cycle (like the 2021 NFT season) gives us a chance to measure real adoption. Look at the survivors: Pudgy Penguins, Chimpers, Doodles… They turned an NFT project into an IP business. They serve emotional value to humans by creating a meaningful connection with the character.

The desire to connect with fictional characters has never changed.
In the past, we had Mickey Mouse. Today we have Pudgy Penguins, Ponke, or even new web2 characters like the Zootopia world. This desire will only get stronger as AI starts blending with human culture and diluting authenticity.

NFTs in the future will mainly act as digital collectibles (like Pokemon cards) and as web3 layers that enhance the experience. More importantly, licensing deals between NFT holders and IP companies are becoming more possible. Projects that fail to build an IP business will slowly die. The value will depend only on attention and speculation, getting lost in millions of NFTs and memecoins upcoming.

With that being said, Llamao’s direction is to create emotional and cultural value for chillmao and the new target audience, build a strong character and philosophy centered on calmness and mindfulness. And if Llamao truly becomes a mainstream IP… what will 1200 NFTs be worth? It will take a lot of time, money, and effort. But sharing this direction is our responsibility to those who support us.

3/ What’s next for Llamao (Lean and focused)

- Continue enhancing all aspects of the Llamao IP: content, story & lore, visuals,... and building content distribution channels beyond X: TikTok, Instagram, and more. We already have a GIPHY channel. Give us time to grow organically (main focus).
- For the web3 space, we will keep building strong partnerships to strengthen and expand Llamao IP. But don't expect too much, and please don't treat these as “utility”.
- Launch at least one physical product line starting in regions where people already love Llamao.

4/ As a Llamao NFT holder, what should you or shouldn’t you do?

a) You should buy only if:
- You love Llamao artworks, content, stickers, GIFs,...
- You understand and wanna become part of Llamao’s culture and community.
- You believe in the licensing model in the future.
- You genuinely enjoy collecting Llamao NFTs or want to use them as your PFP.
- You believe Llamao will be an IP mainstream and you want to become part of that progress early.

b) You should NOT buy if:
- You expect quick profit or pure speculation.
- You rely on well-known people to “shill” for you.
- You expect revenue sharing, token allocation, or any financial return. Do remember, Llamao NFTs are collectibles, a certificate of belonging to the culture and vibe. They are not securities, not utility tokens, and not promises of financial gain or utility.
- You want NFT utility.

5/ Final words

Belief is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If both you and we believe Llamao can become a mainstream IP, the probability of success becomes much higher (though never 100%). You can support us by engaging with our content, evangelizing Llamaoism, building relationships in Llamao's community, and more.

Here are some things we’ve already done to push Llamao toward mainstream culture:
- Created over 3,106 Twitter posts (more than half focused entirely on building Llamao’s IP).
- Published tons of GIFs and stickers on GIPHY.
- Built a unique lore and culture around calmness & mindfulness.
- Built unique, expressive, and recognizable artworks for content & PFP settings. Keone used it.
- Collaborated with many projects to expand Llamao IP. For example, allowing a project to use Llamao as a pet in-game.

The truth is: Llamao was never meant to be “the face of Monad.”
Llamao is meant to become a cultural symbol of calmness and mindfulness. Going beyond Monad isn’t optional, it is inevitable.

The vision is set. The direction is set. Now it’s time to get things done.

TL;DR
- We will continue burning every resource we have to push Llamao beyond NFT territory and turn it into a meaningful part of mainstream culture.
