We were using the Gruffalo to discuss emotions and feelings today. Pupils loved the book and came up with great words - 'petrified' was a favourite. By the end we all agreed the mouse was in the green zone 😊

Another day, another visit😊 This time, National 5 Childcare pupils wanted to find out more about the importance of nurture. We hope this helps with their coursework.

Aiden, one of our fabulous Astra base pupils, came to the Haven today to deliver his presentation on the cadets. Aiden was fantastic at explaining how the cadets had helped his leadership skills and the pupils loved practicing the drills 💂

Some excellent fireworks paintings too after we discussed the importance of safety, especially being safe tonight.

Hot chocolate and smores to end the week on bonfire night. Pupils have been learning so many social skills that they can apply in other classes and at home.

We had a visit from lovely Higher childcare pupils today who wanted to see the important work that takes place in the Haven. Understanding the importance of nurture across the school!
