I've been developing a virtual travel agent in my spare time. Yesterday, in frustration, I gave up on Gemini. Just too much confusion and too many mistakes. I switched over to Claude. What a difference! There are still issues to be worked out, but it's a pleasure to work with.
Loving Gemini 3 in developing a project. But also finding myself in an argument with Gemini 3 about the existence of Gemini 3. It doesn’t believe it’s been released yet.
@Top100Rick It doesn’t dominate American media because it’s not dominated by Americans. Three Americans in the top 32 currently. Try turning on the TV in Korea. It’s everywhere.
Why are the AI companies not liable for hallucinations? If I make a decision based on information provided by an AI tool, and it turns out that that tool just lied and made up the answer, why is the company that made that tool liable for the consequences?
Heading for the Incheon airport after presenting at the APEC workshop on AI and Tourism. My presentation - Welcome to the In Between - focussed on the need for DMOs to change their approach to visitor engagement online as we move towards Google Zero. It seemed well received.
I’ve been invited to go to Incheon and present on AI’s impact on tourism at an APEC regulatory workshop on the 28th. Also presenting are govt relations folks from Google & MSFT plus Expedia and Booking. And govt from Japan, Korea and Malaysia. This should be fun.
With the release of Perplexity’s Comet, and OpenAI’s response that theirs is coming, I’m wondering what the impact is on tourism businesses. If the AI companies put all the content creators out of business (fortunately not us), where are they going to get their information from?
Was on the computer clicking away hoping to secure an elusive one-week summer camp slot for my daughter this morning. Got it - they were all sold out immediately after. When did kids activities become like concerts tickets, and what is broken in our system that this is the norm?
Just got a letter from “Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada” @ISED_CA letting me know that there are issues with my trademark application filed Oct 13, 2021. That’s crazy. How can a department of Innovation & Science take over 4 years to look at an application?
@awilkinson@AIForHumansShow I’ve found The Artificial Intelligence Show very helpful. Made for a business audience. Pretty practical. Just the right level of tech.

Setting up a process to select an AI model to build into future systems seems a little crazy when we’re working in a time of radical change. How does one make a firm decision when everything might change tomorrow.
Really amazed at the image creation within the latest from https://t.co/0mXuFJF9jz. There are lots of image creation tools out there, but Meta’s was the most fun, that I played with it with my daughter. I’m curious about what they learn about me based on how I use these tools.

@Enterprise - “Hey. You know that truck you booked for the long weekend that you totally need. Well we don’t have it. You really shouldn’t use our online tools, since they don’t know what vehicles we have available.” Huh? What year is it?
