I've been developing a virtual travel agent in my spare time. Yesterday, in frustration, I gave up on Gemini. Just too much confusion and too many mistakes. I switched over to Claude. What a difference! There are still issues to be worked out, but it's a pleasure to work with.

Why are the AI companies not liable for hallucinations? If I make a decision based on information provided by an AI tool, and it turns out that that tool just lied and made up the answer, why is the company that made that tool liable for the consequences?

I’ve been invited to go to Incheon and present on AI’s impact on tourism at an APEC regulatory workshop on the 28th. Also presenting are govt relations folks from Google & MSFT plus Expedia and Booking. And govt from Japan, Korea and Malaysia. This should be fun.

With the release of Perplexity’s Comet, and OpenAI’s response that theirs is coming, I’m wondering what the impact is on tourism businesses. If the AI companies put all the content creators out of business (fortunately not us), where are they going to get their information from?

Just got a letter from “Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada” @ISED_CA letting me know that there are issues with my trademark application filed Oct 13, 2021. That’s crazy. How can a department of Innovation & Science take over 4 years to look at an application?
