@mattforney Those measures are all good. The real problem he has not been tackling is legal immigration. Dismantling the flow of legals is the next big step.
@leboyneski True. It's just a shame you are letting the legacy of Scotland fall apart, just like the English. Reject globohomo. Embrace tradition and goodness.
@palmer5309@peterstopcrime And he asks them if they come to Him as though He were a thief, with sword and stave, which suggests He understands the violence to be done against the criminal. He does not spare the thief upon the cross from his punishment.
@EthanLevins2 None of those buildings are that old. They are modern apartments. Plenty of cities of old were utterly destroyed, their populations all put to the sword.
That said, I do think it's time we find a modern Hadrian...
@NpcKse@peterstopcrime Yes. I am not prepared to allow sin/evil to go unchecked. Where correction can be made, it should be made. I will not turn away from it.
Jesus bore that pain and punishment for us. It wasn't an example for us to bear limitless pain ourselves, but to recognize the tremendous sacrifice He was making.
Righteous anger exists. Jesus gave an example of it with the turning over of the tables. A slap for uncouth behavior is a minimal response. No harm was done beyond reddening of a cheek and bruised ego. The parents should have dragged their son out of the water and spanked him in front of God and everyone. I know I would have.
If she had done more violence than a simple slap, there might be a case for it being beyond the pale, but this is not it.

@NpcKse@peterstopcrime I quoted Jesus in my reply. Luke 22:36: "He said to them, βBut now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one."
Why would a pacifist suggest that people buy a sword?
@HicksCBER@catdad1958 If all of those who would be your enemy are dead, how do you lose the war except through moralizing busy bodies undermining you from within?
Good lord we have been too soft for too long...
@bumbadum14 If the courts have ceded their obligation to hear disagreements between states then the next step is for the state to dispatch a force to capture and extradite those officials they want to charge.
We do it to national leaders, why not between states?
Chicken and egg question. If the system is in place to incentivize people having kids, and not being married, to claim more benefits, what do you think is going to happen?
Government isn't charity. It's redistribution of stolen money and assets. Let actual charities handle the poor, and/or let individuals be charitable.
