In 2010, when the Nobel Peace Prize went to the jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, Navi Pillay, then the UN’s top human rights official, stayed away from the ceremony in Oslo. Beijing was pressing governments and institutions to boycott it, and according to Foreign Policy, she gave in. Liu never walked free. He died of liver cancer in 2017 in a hospital in Shenyang, still under guard, after the regime refused to let him go abroad for treatment.
Now the same committee is giving Pillay the same prize. I think it’s fair to expect that anyone with a shred of decency will do for her ceremony what she did for Liu’s: stay away.

她任内前两年对34个"���自由"国家的人权迫害零发声。伊朗2009年镇压抗议者，她三个月后才开口。

不敢向手握铁血与集中营的暴政亮剑，只敢向能够被调查、被批评的民主体系肆意开炮——这就是皮莱的"人权"，本质是精明与投机。

长久以来，‘人权’沦为一些人只敢朝西方文明下手的安全武器——它不再是正义的化身，而是投机者用来解构文明秩序的武器。

把和平奖颁给这样的人，奖的不是和平，是政治正确的自我加冕。
