@Jay_3shifty I'd say Okot. Betts was good in college but I wasn't ever blown away by her. She was just bigger than most. Okot seems to be quicker and just generally more athletic than Betts, but also just generally more aggressive.

@Jay_3shifty I think those final four games were so bad offensively because the officiating was so bad. Hard to get any offensive rhythm when player movement is restricted, to put it mildly

As an avowed Deal fan, and someone who HARD believes in her ability, this sucks.

And I'm not going to say that I predicted this or whatever, because I absolutely did not and am VERY disappointed

End of the day, it's playing time. She wanted it, came in expecting it, and did not get it

And to be clear, THAT WAS THE CORRECT DECISION

It's true that she didn't earn the starting spot in the rotation to start the year, yes - which everyone questioned at the time but as we continued to see Addie play we all saw that was the correct decision, not only was she not ready, she was actually so turnover prone that she was not playable

Even so she was always first off the bench and to her credit played great games, notably a 20 pt effort against Ohio State and earning back to back Big 10 Freshman of the Week awards

All of that earned her the first crack at the starting spot when TMac went down and I for one was absolutely convinced things were lining up for her to really shine - her going back home, in front of her people, West Coast girl, it all fit, but instead she faceplanted and Jan had to turn to Stremlow

If that goes the other way we're not having this discussion today

End of the day, I feel like if, in Addie's exit interview, I feel like if Jan could GUARANTEE Addie a starting job next year, she'd be back

But the hard truth is, she just hadn't earned that guarantee with her play this year

That's the long and short of it

@Hassel_Chris I'd argue they have had some clunker games already - see Indiana and Northwestern. Those teams were so bad we were able to pull out wins despite how bad we played. Can't do that against better competition, like tonight.
