@Reverendbartho1@valessondra11@PredsNHL Ready to talk biology? Okay, let’s start with A&P and biochem and the 7 most common spectra of traits most often used to classify sex in humans. And then let’s talk cognitive neuroscience and how none of those physiological markers correspond to gender. I’ll let you go first!
@ROOOONEY3Lions@valessondra11@PredsNHL But the things he said don’t reflect the values of the organization. He claims to have some affiliation with the organization in a public capacity.
If someone said they represented you and then started saying things that violate your values, I’d think you might want to know.
@Azgarde_ @valessondra11@PredsNHL But McDavid isn’t a woman. That’s just not how being trans works.
If you’d genuinely like to understand the experiences of trans people, then develop some curiosity, meet and listen to them. If you don’t want to understand, stop pretending you know what you’re talking about.
@SteilAlex@valessondra11@PredsNHL Equality isn’t “woke.” It’s fairness. If anyone should be able to understand why that it is important, it is sports fans. Without a commitment to fairness, sports are just spectacles—uncompetitive pageantry with a script and an agenda, like the ice capades or pro wrestling.
@sportsfan3314@valessondra11@PredsNHL Are you ascribing the label of “far left easily offended libbed out nutjobs” to the Hockey is for Everyone campaign? It’s the program designed to promote equality and inclusion, which have historically been lacking in the sport. And PWHL is a vital extension of those initiatives.
@sportsfan3314@valessondra11@PredsNHL The Hockey is for Everyone program began when the NHL examined itself & admitted its historical culture included discrimination & abuse towards minority groups. Hockey IS for everyone to watch and enjoy: older fans who don’t support equality & newer fans affected by that bigotry.
@super_ultraMAGA@JustinTrudeau Pretty typical take, looking at a single factoid and assuming meaning based on confirmation bias.
Here’s more context:
Number of Cup-winning teams since 1994 with a majority of US-born players: 0. As in: zip, zilch, nada, nil, nope.
# with majority of Canadian players: 18.
@DeLaAmber Looks pretty tasty! I’ve had the shittier version…a Whopper burrito…and it was surprisingly palatable. Better than a traditional Whopper (which can be pretty dry), IMO.
@DavidsumnerFilm@piper4missouri Either one over you. Easily.
Not sure if you thought this was funny (way f-ed up) or if you knew it was straight-up racist and that’s how you choose to openly represent yourself to the world. Either way (ignorance or deliberate racial violence) says so much about you. Ew, David.
@pdxwinterhawks@RyanMcCleary_ I understand the reasons for the WHL only allowing 3 overagers per team, but in a development league it’s pretty brutal when a team has developed a number of future NHLers and then isn’t allowed to keep all of them.
@RyanMcCleary_ will be missed!
