A mother brought her 6-year-old in last week. "He hasn't slept in three nights," she said. "He keeps waking up scratching, crying, telling me his bottom hurts. I changed his sheets. I checked for bugs. Nothing. I don't know what else to do."
I asked her one question: "Is it worse at night?" She froze. "How did you know?"
I told her to go home and wait for midnight. Take clear tape. Press it to the skin around that area once he's asleep, before he scrubs in the bath. Look closely. If there are tiny white threads on the tape, it's pinworms, the most common worm infection in American children.
The female worms migrate out at night to lay eggs there, and that laying is what wakes him up. Every parent who's dealt with this tried everything else first.
Now she'll know exactly what to ask her pediatrician for tomorrow morning and it takes one pill. Not months of creams. One pill.
She told her father that she had met a man, and he was happy. She said she listed some of the boy's attitude and wanted to know if they were red or green flags, the father kept answering freely, saying red flags, until she told her father it was him not any boy.

MENSTRUAL PERIOD:The time blood flows out of your private area, when you use pad.
MENSTRUAL CYCLE: Days it takes to see another blood in the month. If you last saw your period in October 11th and it started again on November 10th 2017, then you have 30days cycle (count from 11 October to 10 November).
NOTE: It is erroneous to believe its 28days cycle, different women have different cycles ranging from 21-35 days.
