Congratulations to Louise Knight, Palliative Care Team Lead who was won our STAR of the Month Award.⭐
Louise works hard to ensure every patient's dying wishes are met, such as helping people get married before they die, go home to die and have their dog with them as they die.💙
@KirstyCrozier@GWH_NHS Sending healing vibes to the little man, and hoping you're able to chill and recover. Poorly children are such a worry. Lots of love 😘
Been asked again why 13 yrs in the same job I haven't progressed up from band 5... I have progressed but just not gone into a management role... in that 13 yrs I've developed a true passion for palliative care and gained a wealth of knowledge & experience I want to be hands on
@Dawn_French have just read "oh Dear Silvia" on my week off (I work as a palliative nurse specialist in the NHS). What a bloody good read. I read it in 2 days and was thoroughly gripped! Amazing!! #wishicouldsaymore#nospoilers

Now tell me that the UK doesn’t undervalue its doctors?!
@richardosman just finished "the bullet that missed". Another brilliant story. Joyce is my fave character, being a nurse myself, and it's my life's ambition to be just like her😁❤️ looking forward to the next book. X x
@RawsonGarath@RetiredDiagPro@doctor_oxford Better working conditions, safer staffing to patient ratios, less managers more front line staff, a way to encourage people into nursing - we don't get paid degree level to pay back a loan. Spend less on agency, adequate equipment...the list could go on...
@RetiredDiagPro@vanmoyles@doctor_oxford Absolutly. I love the NHS but it's is breaking/broken. I worry about the nurses/Dr's who put their all into work, who aren't managerial level and who bare the brunt of critisism from public/gov. I for one take things to heart when I hear them, and I imagine so do my colleagues.
@vanmoyles@RetiredDiagPro@doctor_oxford What ever gov, none of them actually represent the people any more. Labour, tory they are all as bad as each other. I could comment much more on that subject but it is only partially relevant.
@RetiredDiagPro@doctor_oxford I totally get that. But actually working in the NHS I can categorically say 111 weeks or not things are just getting worse not better! I know nurses leaving because they can take no more...the gov needs to address the numbers of nurses leaving and why before promising more.
@RetiredDiagPro@doctor_oxford Actually working in the NHS I can tell you that there are not 50000 more nurses, but more and more vacancies, with more and more nurses leaving nursing all together. Conservatives are and were never going to hit that target. It was a complete lie to get voters.
Ambulance response data for July was released today by @NHSEngland - & it is shockingly unsafe.
On average, it took 59 mins to reach Cat 2 calls, i.e. emergencies such as heart attacks & strokes. The target is 18 mins.
Paramedics are doing their utmost. But *where* is the govt?
