It’s our Birthday! 51 years ago the #BrentRiverPark was opened, creating Luke FitzHerbert’s dream of an 8km chain of green space along the #RiverBrent. Now we’re involved in exciting plans to take his vision forward into a new West London Regional Park stretching to the Thames.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the abolition of the Greater London Council. To mark the occasion comes a new book 'London's Ours! Images from the Greater London Council 1981-1985'. You can read my review here https://t.co/f3bUWR4Kqc @4CornersBooks

🚨 MASSIVE NEWS FOR WARREN FARM 🚨
Warren Farm is officially a Local Nature Reserve!!! This is a huge moment for London's nature.
Huge thanks to @BrentRiverPark@ealingcouncil and everyone else who helped make this happen over the past seven years.
"A continuous area of beautiful and natural surroundings". 12 open spaces linked by a "network of footpaths, along the riverbank, threading between golf courses and playing fields.” Luke FitzHerbert's dream for the Brent River Park became a reality 50 years ago. Let's celebrate!
Going out on a limb and out of thousands of miles of roads driven in more than 2 dozen countries the drive along the coast at Varangerfjord to Vardø beats anything else. So beautiful every time. A real journey of moving through a changing landscape! These are all taken from a car
Thanks to @Feargal_Sharkey for visiting the Brent and highlighting some of our “issues”, particularly #Misconnections which are blighting London’s rivers. #swimmableby2034 according to @MayorofLondon Let’s work together to sort this out! https://t.co/i226uVw6pE
No responsibility taken for residential developers’ sewage misconnections for YEARS: River Brent is now a public health hazard! Who will fix it?

Couldn’t think of a nicer way to spend Saturday morning: scooping bits of plastic packaging, wet wipes & polystyrene out of the River Brent! A dog walker said their pet regularly swims in this effluent soup! 🫢 ☠️🦆☠️🐕
