“No one is forcing you to work at that job you hatė.”
Rent is due, health insurance is tied to employment, groceries aren’t free. Yeah actually. Totally voluntary.
Nothing teaches you BOUNDARIES quicker than realizing that working through your lunch break and staying late for 3 years straight only earns you a "MEETS EXPECTATIONS” rating and a 2% raise that doesn't even cover inflation.
Never sacrifice your mental health for a spreadsheet.
Leaving a toxic workplace is a weird feeling…
You’re relieved you’ve finally left, but also annoyed that a perfectly good job has been unnecessarily ruined by a few people creating a disgusting work culture.
“When I was your age, I survived a pandemic and didn’t leave my house for two years. You will be okay if you stay in tonight.”
Finally, we have a line to use for future kids 😭😭😭
The 9-to-5 system should be completely
abolished. Workdays should be 10-3 or 9-2. There's no reason people should spend most of their lives at work. Let people go home and have time for their families, partners, friends, and rest. This is why so many people hate their jobs.
Do you remember when radio stations used to give away concert tickets and backstage passes? I just heard a midday radio giveaway, and now the prizes are groceries, a year of gas, or rent paid. It’s a strange reminder that survival has become the prize. That’s pretty sad.
