@MikeRey92144159@drruthannharpur We ask women to bring in their own sanitary towels and nappies for the babies. Some units ask them to supply own bottles for babies. I don’t see the difference to asking them to bring in paracetamol and ibuprofen. I would suggest most women routinely carry these with them anyway.
@bandq_help I wanted to cancel my order and was told over the phone this had been accepted. Then on Monday it got delivered. I phoned again and asked for the order to be recollected and to receive my refund. I am still waiting for someone to contact me.
@JohnLewisRetail please remove this advert for a product that is not safe for new babies. These products are evidenced to not prepare infant powdered formula to kill the bacteria within the powdered milk. I’m disappointed that JL would be advertising this https://t.co/LU8YqsTglX
WHO states that breastfeeding could save the lives annually of 8,20,000 children below 5 years of age. The theme for World Breastfeeding(BF) Week is ‘Enabling BF: Making a difference for working parents’& shines a light on workplace support, paid leave & more @world_midwives
Any Trust based Transformation Lead Midwives out there who would like to come together for support and shared learning in the South West. We are trying to pull together a community of practice. Let me know if you would like to be involved.
This looks like a great idea to facilitate early skin to skin which then supports breastfeeding and all the known health benefits. @TraceyKay19 @RDESpecServices @RDETheatres@MaternityRde
Today we trialled a @Iskushealth drape for an elective caesarean section. The baby is passed through an aperture in the drape for immediate skin to skin contact with the mother. Excellent feedback received by patients @EliMedd@UHP_NHS@PtExpUHP @helen_harling1 @mariannerowntr1
@LullabyTrust I think a breastfeeding journey should start antenatally with reading and research, go to antenatal education if able or try an online course. Do as much to prepare as possible. Ensure your partner also is aware of the problems that can occur ans how they can support you.
I wrote a thread yesterday, and some people have said I did not go far enough in explaining why paying public sector workers inflation-matching pay rises is the right thing to do. They’re right, so let me explain the rest of it…..
@Faizathemidwife @hazard_leah @sheena_byrom@Midwifemarley I have often made heat packs for women with warm water in an inco wrapped in a towel. I have also heated lavender packs for women when asked. I think warm therapy is such a great relief and so much better than an early epidural.
@midwifeliv0104 Could you create a QI project alongside the MVP to make one of the 8 beds a birthing room environment room? So more of a home from room for low risk women with no ctg in the room permanently and more home comforts, pretty murals on walls? Assess women for their suitability to it.
