I love this bit of the forwarding process, as it feels like I am nearing completion! My leather joints are mitred & stuck down & I've infilled the centre of the boards with watercolour paper which is the same thickness as the leather joints and turn-ins #bookbinding

It's not often I've 3 books ready for covering on my bench. The little one is the size of the sample boards I make to test out an idea for rebinding books printed on single sheets. The method involves a lot of paring & a number of stubs...watch this space for more! #bookbinding

Part One explains the design, the cover depicts one of the chapters, “Sous Les Pommiers”, or “Under the Apple Tree”. The front cover has apples and the back cover apple blossom.
