Ultimate shill-factor!
Tim Draper (below), first purchased 29,656 BTC for US$19M on 2 Jul 2014. Market goes against him 40% by 6 Dec 2014, so he buys 2,000 BTC more…
Bags a 175x return for US$3.2B (marked to market on the initial trade - still HODLs).
He’s up 30,000% on the second trade - still HODLs.
Heads on CNBC in 2025 to let you know that “now is a good time to buy..”
Sell signal?
Maybe he’s cashing out to come to #Hedera next…
@thehbarbull@cryptograb8@hedera@ManceHarmon@theallinpod Hey Bull, the Hashgraph is getting difficult to work on with the lack of liquidity. My products in dev are islanded on chain. Basically it locks out the value I can bring in. Can we get an update on when some of these liquidity drivers (like @lambdaplex) might be ready.
@hedera@EthereumDenver Can you guys get at least one liquid DEX bridging mechanism up and running so this entire chain is not totally isolated from the world? Why is there no liquidity anywhere? Axelar, Hashport, LayerZero, tried them all. I can’t build products without a way to transfer cross chain.
With you 100% on that framing Brady. Sticky capital! For that we are going to need cheaper fees, cheaper alternatives deployed to things like Eth EVM smart contracts and a move away from double click approve/transacts. User experience front and centre. Round trip trades are 0.80%+ and we can’t wait for the humanoid bots to pick this up, it’ll be too late. Double click gapped transactions is making this one of the slowest user experiences in web 3, despite its super awesome reliability, trust and ultra cheap base layer. (Saucerswap did well addressing that). For build side, Hedera is not there yet for builders to invest and grow this GDP, it’s just always a bit slow and behind. Tooling is still weak with big gaps, low uptake and not battle tested. We need rapid deployment schedules, more Ethereum/Solana level chaos and creative destruction. I see the light with some of what is coming out on Github from Hedera, but…. Builders need to see snippets of next generation applications that are not a full 1-2 generations behind the best on other chains, then the GDP will grow. And why do we have such low Bitcoin liquidity on this chain too?! Why do we snub the reserve asset of this new country style GDP world? We’re basically being like North Korea in the USD system…
@thehbarbull and @rob_nodl you guys are legends!
Hedera’s tech is elite… These new builder tools just get better and better… but where’s the capital?
When does money follow the mission? Or do we loosely peg to Bitcoin to wake this chain up? Other chains seem to be able to draw a lot more USDC and Bitcoin capital onto their chains. Why not us?
Giovanni I’m seeing that too. Less bubbly behaviour and your power law model becomes even more predictive.
I recreated your model, (to understand it), in a little excel spreadsheet a few years back and I still have days where your model’s price curve strikes on a given day. Does well on variance.
Thanks for sharing your original work! (I personally don’t think that tweaks and changes add much value from here, but I guess people have to find something to do)! I’ve used similar equations that have held predictive power in scientific workflows for 30+ years… So on a 5 year time horizon, doesn’t seem valuable to readjust the model. 😂
Have you got thoughts or comment on this? I haven’t revisited the workflow for a long time.
@cb_doge Huge need here for AI that doesn’t parrot the propaganda in my country. Like when you see 25,000 people at a protest, and stand to verifiably estimate that for almost two hours as the foot traffic walks past… Then AI tells you convincingly it was a gathering of 5.
