The nuke moment is easily the weakest scene in Oppenheimer where it looks like a tiny gasoline explosion.
I get that Nolan has an obsession with practicality but I wish the actual scene looked more like this clip. Should’ve used a CGI + archival footage approach.
This is what I'll never understand. Nolan is basically pressing VERY expensive vinyl that can only be properly "played" on extremely rare phonographs. Good for the people lucky enough to be near one, but out of touch with 98% of mainstream patrons.
‘THE ODYSSEY’ had one sequence filmed in such stormy conditions on a 115ft wooden longship in the sea that many actors started vomiting.
Nolan then said — “would you mind if we get the vomiting on camera?”
