@benni0m0 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian Thats basically saying “eh you can feel shitty about it and so can other people but it’s still gonna happen so just get over it.” I thought our community was more understanding than this
@IndieRockChick2 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian Ok i deleted the tweet because instead of having literally anyone who experienced what i do reply to me, all i got were people who don’t share my emotion telling me how i SHOULD feel about shit. Weird ass way to gaslight tbh
@IndieRockChick2 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian That’s the idea, but I feel like it’s become a way for cis people to show how progressive and accepting they are without actually listening to or caring about trans issues, and trans people do benefit but fail to see the harm that it can cause for the rest of the community
@benni0m0 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian So ig trans folks who are struggling with labels and feel pressured and uncomfortable just need to put up with it. I know what you meant, but as fucking always trans voices really don’t matter as much as cis people feeling better about themselves by being allies
@tirednotbitter@trashlord_2 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian Also something feels wrong about people telling me how to feel about pronouns when i struggle with my identity immensely and on a daily basis but ok ima keep my mouth shut and leave rn
@Jay_Glenny @tirednotbitter@trashlord_2 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian Because I feel uncomfortable being as open about my identity when it is still widely unaccepted by society
@baphomet2k20 True, thats valid. I just help make cis people comfortable by insisting they use my cis pronouns. Unhealthy? Yes, but I have avoided the feeling of getting misgendered lmao
@baphomet2k20@BrownRecluse2 @SamRoseCas @ProfessorGutian I get this mindset, i think it’s just hard for some people to be put on the spot when they experience struggle with gender and pronouns, and some people don’t really think about it when asking for pronouns. But yes, it does prevent misgendering and it works
Last night, after nearly 6 anxious months of being told "the company will have a response for you shortly," my employer, @latimes, finally handed me a decision on the pay discrimination claim I filed through my union.
