@GilmerHealthLaw The loss of Erin Gilmer @GilmerHealthLaw is not only a loss to us all, but an indictment of our broken system. There are thousands of Erin's, struggling to live in a system primed to make them invisible, to erase them. I'm sorry for our loss of this wonderful human.
"I receive care in my home from up to six different PSWs every day, some of who work for multiple agencies. Yet, I can’t get the #COVID19Vaccine." My @TorontoStar an op-ed about how those of us with #disability are deprioritized. Again.

@democracynow@SFdirewolf If you’re in CA, you can help. Send a letter to Gov. Newsom to prioritize vaccines for those with disabilities. To send this letter below send “SIGN PSCVF” via text to 50409 or via Twitter DM to @resistbot.
Talk about how we live with COVID. Talk about how we balance risk and safety. But please stop pretending everyone can shake off illness just because you can. We’re in a pandemic: if you haven’t now learnt illness falls unequally or that disabled lives count too, you never will.
We are experiencing eugenics in real-time during a pandemic with no end in sight. We can't wait. We want to live.

Rabbi Elliot Kukla says much of the public health messaging during the pandemic has given people living with disabilities a "feeling of being disposable."
People living with disabilities are much more vulnerable to COVID-19, but many states, including California, have failed to prioritize them for vaccines as they focus mainly on people 65 and older. "Young high-risk people exist," says disability rights activist @SFdirewolf.
Watching @SFdirewolf on @democracynow this morning talk about how age-based Covid vaccination assignment deprioritizes people with disabilities; & thinking about the huge struggle to overcome ableism at all levels of society.
"This is clearly erasure, this is eugenics, and I consider this a form of violence. It is a form of violence against the most marginalized communities.” -@SFdirewolf

“Though my colleagues and I are privileged to be vaccinated, many of our high-risk patients do not even know when they will receive their first dose. More than 3,000 Americans are still dying because of this virus each day.”

@invisiblegirl99@PettersenKenny@CDCgov 1) more likely to have a severe case
2) Less able to limit exposure
3) In some cases- likely to be denied care if crisis stds are in place
For some people- the long odds are on *surviving*

@RobAnderson2018 Too bad our governor doesn't love #HighRiskCA disabled enough to make sure they're vaccinated. Eugenics is NOT love. And this is eugenics in a nutshell.
Last call to take part... @guardian and I are collecting high risk people’s experiences of being left out of the vaccine priority list. We’d love to hear from you. You can fill out the form here: https://t.co/iJLM05XsQb
