I sold an iPhone on eBay, shipped it promptly, and provided tracking. USPS delayed delivery for nearly a month, but the tracking clearly showed the package was still moving through the USPS network.
So the buyer gets a free iPhone, the seller loses both the product and the money, and the only solution offered is a refund of the eBay fee.
How is this fair seller protection? Sellers shouldn’t be penalized for carrier delays when tracking shows the package is still in transit.
Before the package was delivered, eBay refunded the buyer. The iPhone was then successfully delivered, but I never received payment. The buyer has the phone, won’t respond to messages, and eBay’s position is that it’s now my problem to recover the item or payment from the buyer.
