What are you reading this week?
I dare you to pick up something old and unexpected.
What can you learn from the writing, from the reading, from your experience?
Sometimes I start my writing practice with a haiku. Why? Because it is a compassionate bridge to my creativity and my voice. It also brings some fun and lightness to my process. Who doesn't want some of that?
Productivity is helpful in some contexts. Dirty dishes = helpful. But what about writing? In my book, process will support you on the page in a way that productivity just can’t touch. Read more at https://t.co/sxDXyJ0HjG
Interested in exploring what that could look like for you and your writing practice? Check out my Writing Practice at https://t.co/SVROYAOIc7. It just might be what you have been looking for.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a book recommendation for yourself or someone who loves a good story filled with hope, longing, and an unspoken wish for the future, this is the one to take with you into the weekend.
Stretch! Good writers are good readers. Read something that is outside of your comfort zone. Pick a genre you rarely explore (or even look at it - I see you over there with your stack of self-development). What will you choose that is outside of your comfort zone this week?
I believe in the power of your voice. Your writer's voice evolves over time as you live and breathe and create and practice. No one's voice is exactly the same. Take the time to cultivate a writing practice that can grow with you and your voice.
Sometimes a little haiku time is good for the soul!

I never said I was good at them, but they definitely help me compassionately connect to my creativity and inspiration. A little more of that, please! 💙
Here's something I've been hiding: I adore books. I adore story. I adore witnessing a voice in its fullness. But more than anything, I adore the relationships I cultivate when I am reading. Read the rest of the story on my blog at https://t.co/lwGVgNtZl2
Want to see what happens when you participate in the slow craft of writing? 💚 Welcome to the newest addition to the CMCollab catalog! Unarmored: Finding Home in the Wild Edges of Being Human by Allison Crow - https://t.co/TrwlqBa7j3
An excerpt from my book. It's just the beginning of the bigger question. But this is a simple reminder to slow down and evaluate what you are cultivating in your life.
Is your writing practice bringing you pleasure? Savor every moment even with their imperfections.
