@JulieSiegle Yes! When children are over scheduled or too much change is happening in their life, they feel out of control and often it results in negative behaviors coming out at school.
@bmichelchippewa @JulieSiegle Student led learning can be so powerful and beneficial! It truly keeps them engaged because it’s focused on their wants and needs.
@JulieSiegle It reminded me to look out for those red flags of kids who are often feeling sad but don’t know why they are feeling that way. Sometimes kids just aren’t able to explain their feelings and that can be scary for them!
@jenniferlfaber@JulieSiegle I 100% was thinking this same thing! In the moment, it is so frustrating to repeat directions for the 5th time but I can be better about accommodating for those students who need those reminders.
@mdlewi17@JulieSiegle I agree, it was interesting really thinking about the different theorists and how they can be connected in our everyday planning for our students.
@JulieSiegle I’m thinking about the video we watched with the guy who was photographed as many different people. It made me think about how I look at the students in my classroom and the other students in my school. I shouldn’t have a specific mindset before I meet a student for myself.
@mdlewi17@JulieSiegle I totally agree. It is so hard not to go home every night and worry about some of your students. This isn’t a profession where we get to leave work at work. We carry all of the work and emotions around with us all the time.
@Ms_Cecchettini@JulieSiegle I agree that I sometimes worry about making sure my relationship with students is super strong but I have come to the conclusion that if I work really hard at creating a strong relationship in the beginning they will know that I still care about them even when I have to get tough
@JulieSiegle My color is orange. It helps me teach because my students always know that I care about them and I will do just about anything to help them succeed. It can get in my way because I take things too personally because I care too much and it can create challenges for me.
