@HDuehn@JulieSiegle Yes! It might be especially tempting to believe what our colleagues at work tell us about students that they have had in the past, but it's crucial to start fresh with the student. We may have a different experience with them than our colleague!
@JulieSiegle It surprised me tonight while my group was working on our lesson plan how many theorists tie into a lesson plan. This helped me realize where I'm incorporating theorists in my own lesson plans, and where I should include more!
@SRingsred@JulieSiegle Yes! It's pretty overwhelming to think about all of the layers of culture in each one of our students. But I think if we make an effort to understand each student and their personal culture, it's very meaningful, both for them and us!
@jenniferlfaber@JulieSiegle I thought this was interesting, too! I like how all of the theories, though they are different, tie and relate to each other in some way throughout a person's life.
@JulieSiegle The discussion about technology and its influence on the Bronfenbrenner model made me think. Technology has many pros, but also has cons that are concerning. How can we as a society use technology as a educational tool, while limiting the misuse that is happening?
@HDuehn@JulieSiegle Same here! It's hard for me to not take things personally, too. Especially being early in my career and still developing confidence as a teacher.
@JulieSiegle My color is orange. This helps me in teaching because I care for all of my students, therefore work hard to help them succeed. This gets in my way because sometimes it's hard to detach emotionally as many of my students are going through hardships in their life. #610AV
