It’s crazy to me how much amazing historical wrestling there is available for free and no one watches. Like literally. Stuff that’s been on YouTube for years and has like 1000 views or less.
@SeanRossSapp Rousey is also a high-level judoka. I don’t think people understand that judo incentivizes quick pins and submissions.
Spend too much time on the ground in a judo match and the referee is gonna stand both competitors back up.
Been thinking more about Bob Backlund never getting due credit. Overshadowed by Bruno, swept aside for Hogan. Yet he reigned for 6 years atop the most high profile company in the business during a period of white hot business. And among the top 5 longest world title reigns ever.
Bockwinkel was so good at little details that conveyed the physical struggle of wrestling.

The Hogan debate is exposing how badly WWE has conditioned wrestling history.
Hogan mattered enormously. But if your take is that successful pro wrestling effectively began in 1984, you are not discussing history. You are repeating the corporate myth.
