@miss_mcinerney I guess you are too young to remember the odd games we teachers played in silence whilst invigorating in the old days. Human Pac Man, was always the best.
@HarfordSean @TeacherToolkit @MaryBoustedNEU @ColinJCattanach @Irenaeus1969@amanda_spielman This ‘them and us’ combative nonsense is exactly why I left the U.K. after 20+ years teaching. Is Ofsted perfect...? No, of course not, but ‘abolition’ is not the answer neither is it to blame for all recruitment woes!
@drewpovey Sat in Oman having moved here over the summer just catching up on Twitter and shocked at your treatment. You’ll bounce back and I wish you all the best.
@headstfs@misshoknews Your completely correct 👍I remember those conversations why at county very well indeed ,why Looking at the development witin Buckingham/Winslow & surrounding villages Combined class sizes would’ve been huge without STFS & schools standards In our area would of definitely dropped
@lehain I think ‘ban’ is a little emotive and they do have use, if only to photograph homework or a resource. At STFS we have very few issues with phones but didn’t ban them. Tough stance on inappropriate use seems to work!
@stuchburyrobin@misshoknews What saddens me is that BCC (and Mike Appleyard in particular ) claimed STFS was not needed back in 2013! The result was that STFS has no playing fields! If it had been acknowledged as basic need, we would have had some!
@CllrWarrenWhyte @actionfrauduk Almost as bad as those 4 yearly knocks on the door from councillors who try to remind you if all the good they’ve done with your local taxes! They too often disappear when pushed to explain! 😉
@AnneHeavey321 Firstly ensure SENCo is either in SLT or at least invited to attend meetings... then listen to what they have to say! Advice for SENCo would be ... ‘stick to your guns’... you are often the voice of reason and a school’s moral compass.
@ColinTheMathmo@RobJLow@NookiedV Let’s not delude ourselves....University is very much a business nowadays and not really a genuine academic environment for the vast majority of students.
@ColinTheMathmo@RobJLow@NookiedV I’m guessing you are a lecturer. Another big ‘shift’ is the amount of money our youngsters pay for the privilege of working on their own!
