As #VolunteersWeek draws to a close, we wanted to thank our Trustees for the governance of our charity.
Many people do not realise that the role of Trustee is unpaid & comes with a great deal of responsibility.
Thank you to our Board of Trustees (inc our Treasurer, Sandra, below)
Super photos here from Sutton House clients recent offsite trip. A hearty breakfast at The Fox in Walmley followed by a walk and game of table tennis at Sutton Park. They also got time to have a look at the displays in the Visitor Centre which they all found really interesting.
Our Volunteer Appreciation Day gave us chance to thank our volunteers directly for all that they do for our charity.
We simply couldn't do what we do without them.
Shout out to all #volunteers during #VolunteersWeek!

Thanks again to the team of volunteers from @BW_LLP for their hard work at our #braininjury hub yesterday. Who knew THREE people could make such a difference in a day?!
Weed-free pavers are so much easier for our brain-injured clients to navigate & so THANK YOU!
#VolunteersWeek
A group of volunteers from local company @BW_LLP have joined us today to help with some gardening chores! We simply couldn't keep on top of the garden work without this external support. Thank you!

It's Volunteers Week and time to celebrate the huge contribution our 60 volunteers make to all areas of our work - at our brain injury hubs, in our offices, in our charity shop & with our fundraising.
Thank you all!

It was Headway House client Finn's birthday recently and he celebrated by making the first break on a new pool table, of which he kindly donated. Many thanks Finn for your kind donation, we're sure it will get lots of use and bring lots of fun to the centre.
Shout our for people to play Birmingham Community Lottery... have fun and support some fantastic local causes including @HeadwayBS.
With a £1,000 IKEA voucher to be won as well as the usual cash prizes, it's a great time to have a go!

So grateful to @AF_Blakemore for their support once again, this time with refreshments for an inclusive walk planned for June.
It means our scarce resources can go directly towards providing our vital brain injury services, so often described as 'a lifeline' by our service users.
A brilliant humanities session delivered here at Headway House recently, drawing 'what's on my mind.' A great way for clients who struggle with expression through words to communicate how they are feeling.

This is Headway House client Lee, enjoying 1:1 support from one of our FAB volunteers taking part in a creative session making a garden. At the same time as being a therapeutic activity, it is also working on cognitive skill and hand eye co-ordination.

One of our Headway House volunteers has been working 1:1 with our client weekly to improve her speech and communication. The client looks forward to her sessions and has improved during her time in ABI services.

Gaining skills and learning even while having fun. Headway House clients chose to play axe throwing and darts during a social group this week. Interacting, communicating and working together to improve skills.
