🇮🇷🇺🇸 The U.S. just bombed Iran again, hitting the same coastal targets, and Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar's read is that this isn't retaliation, it's preparation...
His tactical eye caught what the headlines miss.
The strikes keep landing in one specific zone, the gateway from the Gulf of Oman into the strait, near Sirik, Qeshm, Bandar Kong.
Command and control, radar, mine-layer capability, the old Qeshm airfield.
To him that target pattern reads like a preplanned package setting conditions for a larger operation, not a one-off response.
His framing of the asymmetry was sharp: when the US disables a ship's engine room with a drone, Western media calls it a "precision strike enforcing freedom of navigation."
When Iran does the identical thing to that Singaporean tanker, it's "Iran attacks vessel." Same act, opposite headline.
And the ship, he notes, was traveling outside Iran's communicated lane.
What he keeps circling back to is why.
Iran's resolve on Hormuz is unbreakable, so these strikes won't change it.
His conclusion: Washington has quietly accepted it can't get Israel out of Lebanon, so it's trying to claw back Iran's leverage instead, degrading the one capability that gives Tehran its trump card.
One of Israel's strongest advocates just admitted they can't keep fighting forever
That was the biggest surprise from my interview with Richard Goldberg.
He's spent years warning about Iran, defending Israel's security concerns, and arguing that Tehran's nuclear ambitions and proxy network pose an existential threat.
So I expected him to argue for more military action; instead, he kept coming back to something much bigger: the wars have to end eventually.
Not because Iran has suddenly become peaceful, or Hezbollah no longer poses a threat, but because it's unsustainable.
He said time and again that this is the moment to turn their military victories into political ones.
The Gulf needs to reduce its dependence on the Strait of Hormuz. Hezbollah has to be prevented from rebuilding, and Lebanon has to become sovereign again.
Because if none of that happens, then all the military success of the past year simply resets the clock for the next war.
That struck me.
Because if someone as hawkish as Richard is talking about ending the cycle rather than extending it, then the question is whether Israel knows what winning actually looks like anymore.
Because if every victory simply leads to another war, then at some point, even winning starts to look a lot like losing.

🚨🇸🇴🇺🇸 Fraud at an epic scale: 90% of the World Food Program's $1.9 billion allocated for Somalia never reaches the people it was meant to feed.
Dr. Abdillahi Hashi Abib, Somali Member of Parliament, says he's spent 14 years investigating.
He has found that prior to the DOGE crackdown under Trump, USAID, state aid, and Western embassies were all involved in hiring third-party companies inside Somalia to siphon the money, under the watchful eye of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The aid machine isn't broken. It's working exactly as designed, but for the wrong people.
