One positive thing that social media brings is the ability for women to find & share their voices. Gen Z young women I interviewed in my book, "Hear Us Speak" said that social media gives them a platform to share what they believe in, and the changes they want to see.

Reasons why Gen Z women will jumpstart systemic change in the Arab World: 1) They don't feel a need to follow the same customs as generations before. 2) They do not expect a man to care for them financially & emotionally. 3) They feel that wearing a hijab is their choice.

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Over 20 years, about 200,000 persons have been trafficked from South Asia to the Middle East. This is just one global statistic. Human Trafficking happens all over. The more we raise awareness, the less persons get harmed.

Happy #ArabicLanguageDay! What I love about languages are the stories they create and the connections they build. Arabic has been spoken for more than 1,000 years, and has influenced a great number of other languages. It is also the official language of 26 countries. Amazing!
