@UlrichSchneider Jap, und genau dann ist man mit Viruserkrankungen am ansteckendsten und steckt so die halbe Abteilung mit an. Ehemaliger Gesundheitsminister…
I learnt this from Milton Ericksons field work books. Still puzzles me that that this is not default advice. I suppose its not easy to do either, but I really found it to be an amazing guiding prinicple.
You let them be depressed and just interact with them like you would with anyone else. You let the depression be there, don’t play it down, but also don’t make it a big, identity-defining deal. You will both grow doing this and you will make some really good friends.
@orphcorp Here. Prebiotics, mental work around my OCD themes and daily singing practice were the main drivers, I feel. Used to have super treatment resistent stuffy nose plus face pain when speaking for 5+ years. Now I hardly ever get stuffy nose from anything.
@callebtc If only they cared half as much about privacy as they care about AI safety 😭 Entire internet of today is an algorithmic mess of leaky black box prediction models, but that‘s somehow normal now.
@BreatheLesss Great article! Gestalt therapy has a practice where you conciously amplify the tension before you release it and do the thing. Amazing technique to locate and feel chronic, normalized somatic tension.
Senate Banking's Market Structure draft is a disaster, and anyone telling you otherwise is either paid or an idiot.
First, the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act alone does not protect developers. It makes explicit exemptions for activity related to AML/CTF, and leaves the door wide open for the continued prosecution of developers for what others do with their software.
Calling this developer protection is like watering the garden when your house is on fire.
Second, the draft AMENDS THE PATRIOT ACT to give Treasury the authority to restrict certain types of cryptocurrency transactions.
It already has a rule for this in place that FinCEN Director Gacki has stated to be in the works of finalizing, called the mixer rule - that would deem any transaction involving mixers a primary money laundering concern to be blocked in the US.
Third, the draft gives NO PROTECTIONS from the application of the BSA to non-custodial wallets. It does give you the “right” to self-custody, but that right isn’t really a right at all as it includes provisions to legally let the Government seize your self-custodies assets.
It also paves the way to bring back a new version of Gensler’s broker rule, which would cause anyone developing a decentralized finance protocol to APPLY KYC/AML.
The measure of control herein is not control over funds, but control over the protocol – effectively covering any protocol that needs to be maintained and updated, which is pretty much every protocol.
Lastly, the draft tasks the Treasury to issue guidance on sanctions compliance for web front ends, asking it to explore the possibility of mandating the use of BLOCKCHAIN SURVEILLANCE SOFTWARE.
None of this is good, and it’s likely going to get worse after markup tomorrow. Buckle up.
Societies are built around hijacking our metacognition.
A zebra can not be scared of an imagined tiger. Humans can, and that is great, but the hijacking is so intense now (social media, ads, status games...) that you must consciously resist this abuse of your human nature.
having high levels of metacognition will often be action-stopping bc u see all the affordances u could pick on, all the ways ur actions could be different
learning to temporarily &/or strategically silence metacognition in favor of embodied execution is then the only way forward
@musicben_eth Nothing scaled, yet 💪
Maybe I am a hopeless optimist but I think privacy tech opens many doors. Strictly public ledgers just don’t cut it if you want serious alternatives.
Economic sybil resistance is real. It’s valueable and it attracts value. They understand this. They, like Satoshi, understand that economic sybil resistance is BTCs true achievement. That‘s why its named Nakamoto consensus.
Or as the Linkies like to put it, token not sneeded.
@Aella_Girl@PoloniumTurd You might want to toss it on the Open Sciene Framework or somewhere. If you create enough data on the science platforms, researchers will have an easier time arguing for inclusion of your data into secondary analyses (where they can test differences to other samples directly).
@branmcconnell@snwy_me Uh nice, I will give o3 a try. Never used it much.
Same for me with GPT-5. It seems to catch some issues other models miss, but it‘s slow and feels dry and unresponsive. Not fun. And I really want my setups to be fun.
@branmcconnell@snwy_me Gemini 2.5 pro still the best RND model for me. Least amount of glazing, if prompted to, and it‘s quite decent at tearing apart unrealistic plans. Hoping 3 will be the same.
@DeryaTR_ Whats the selection criteria for tournament winners? Crushing false positive rates can’t be as easy as slapping a meta heuristic on LLM-generated hypotheses about empirical data, or can it?
