@wellboy I guess it depends on the data too. Another report this week by OECD showed Sweden worst in Europe at getting the r-number down. Deaths on the rise here now. Harder restrictions in place and prime minister addressing the nation last night telling everyone to basically cop on lads

@wellboy @FatEmperor There's no lockdown as such but the recommendations are not far off one. And people tend to follow them here.

@wellboy @FatEmperor I think if there was a level of trust between the government and the people in Ireland then that would be easier to arrive at. But let's face it. The people don't trust the government and the government don't trust the people. Its a very different situation here in Sweden.

@wellboy @FatEmperor Lockdown fatigue is something they have been acutely aware here from the start. That if they go with lockdown measures from the start they have no where left to go. Now they are going in with harder restrictions. We will see how far it goes during this new period.

@wellboy @FatEmperor But again. That doesn't mean the same would work in another country. There are alot of factors, cultural, social, infrastructural, housing that contribute to that startegy working here in Sweden. And now we see the rise again which may indicate seasonality plays a big factor.

@wellboy @FatEmperor And why did it work in Sweden. No masks. No lockdown? I have seen 0 friends since first week in March. I'm following the recommendations they put out. Majority of people with people in risk groups around them have most likely been doing the same as me. So that's probably why.

@wellboy @FatEmperor For sure. But being here on the ground in Sweden. I think they just choose strategies based on what they had to work with. Which I believe is what other countries are doing too. The end of the day the recommendation here right now is to not meet people outside of your household.

@wellboy @FatEmperor When the ICU places start to reach capacity or even before then I think it has always been a priority question and that the numbers reflect the chosen strategy.

@wellboy @FatEmperor I think that's fair and accurate. But I don't think we can begin to guess how many under 70 would have died and how many over 80 would have lived if priority for ICU places was instead given to people over 80. Would we then instead have highest numbers in 60 - 80 demographic?

@wellboy @FatEmperor These type of conversations and debates were on the news daily here in March due to them nearing full capacity in ICUs. They even built a military field hospital that they didn't have to use in the end. But not reaching capacity was there goal. What is full capacity ICU at home?
