@apralky i think the difference is the classical definition vs the one most people associate the term with now. incel now refers to a man who despises woman, has no self confidence, and isn’t contributing to society in any meaningful way.

i like to think of these types of things as more circular.

the aristocrats of the 17-19th century were all extremely feminine despite going to war leading corporations.

the US has operates as nucleus for which global culture originates and it takes other places time to catch up

but i think even now we still have not gotten to a point where global internet culture is so dominate that zoomers in every western nation share a culture. definitely headed that direction, though
