The other thing I noticed: he should have lead his team for a FULL lap of honor around the stadium, waving and accepting applause while saying thank you to the fans in the stadium. The young players in the team would have loved this opportunity. Nope, he waited for the cameras to gather, stood there in the field center by himself, sulking. Then walks to changing room and unfortunately the whole team follows their “Captain” down the tunnel and off the grass. He should have led a lap of honor. That would actually have got him more media attention BUT with the whole team by his side, not like what he actually got which was “Cristiano” by himself in the center of the pitch, his last World Cup! Very classy and definitely not narcissistic, indeed. Lap. Of. Honor. With. Your. Team. Do. That. Son.

Getting regular citizens to get excited about regular work is harder in 2026 than it was in 1999. That is the issue. Nobody wants to be positive, excited and energized for a regular job. They want stardom, high pay and the fast life, as depicted in today’s media. That’s the problem. Emirates does it because those employees have no other opportunities in Dubai or the part of the they came from before Dubai let them in. Regular Americans need to adopt that decades old attitude of being professional and hard working at regular jobs. With that established, all US airlines would be outstanding like they were pre 1999!
