@PolarGlobal This is happening with me right now. I've never had problems with uploading to Strava from my Vantage V2 until yesterday. A few activities show up in Flow but never get to Strava. It seems to be any activities after the first one of the day.
After a year of not looking at the codebase and getting a new laptop, I can no longer run heatflask backend on my laptop. Looks like I need to rewrite it. I've decided to ditch Flask and use Sanic. The backend basically grabs data from @Strava and serves it to heatflask users
@CraigTaylorViz I think you should focus more on interactivity and change of perspective. One thing that makes geoviz interesting is the potential to zoom in or out to go from detailed to general.
@sebasti97827984 @sabrinaesaquino I just find it a cheap and sort of lazy way to get attention, and it probably also makes things worse for a lot of women who code and would like to be respected for the work they do and not just pictures of themselves.
@sebasti97827984 @sabrinaesaquino I find it offensive because there are a lot of talented coders who create software and don't get much recognition, and yet @sabrinaesaquino posts basically an Instagram thirst pic and gets thousands of likes, comments etc. I find that offensive.
@mourner If I can ever get around to working on Heatflask again I would like to integrate all of this stuff, and have all of the animations done on the GPU as well.
Hi everyone! I have another project that's taking up a lot of time lately so @heatflask development is on hold for a while. I hope to get back to it at some point. Reach out to me at [email protected] if you want.
@helenmakesmaps@CraigTaylorViz I had a well-respected coder/jerk tell me he could write @heatflask in a weekend and told me he didn't see the point. What a dick.
@jaffathecake I have not read your whole multi-part article so you may have talked about this but how about if the site is slow the first time a user browses to it, and then faster successive times because it uses local storage?
@jaffathecake Jeff, are you recording your activities on @Strava? If so you may have fun exploring them on @heatflask. There is a lot of interesting web dev involved with the visualization and I have ideas about where it's headed. I discovered you and your articles via developing it.
