The anecdotes of sudden death in young- mid age adults is like nothing I’ve seen in my career as a cardiologist.
At what point does “anecdotal” evidence translate into urgent investigation & consensus documents to empower us to prevent these terrible outcomes?

Vaccines work (regardless of what you may have heard). Please get vaccinated. Please retweet.

A decent thread to help explain "endemic":
When people ask, “When will we get to endemic?”, what they really mean is, “When can we reopen?”, “When can the masks come off?”, “When will COVID be less disruptive?”, and maybe, “What amount of disease and death is acceptable to us?”
Today's wastewater data for Saskatoon is dismal: a 58.5% increase in viral load over last 7 days.
Prince Albert? 358% increase.
North Battleford? 319% increase.
So no signs of peak yet in 2 big #SK cities. BIG increases in 'rural' #SK.
LONG road ahead w/ Omicron in #SK.
We have reached a "watershed" in Saskatchewan in which a Premier with a farming background is claiming that his interpretation of the scientific COVID data is more valid than that of all medical experts. @picardonhealth@awong37@KatharineSmart@CPHO_Canada@SMA_docs
As a teacher, I spend the entirety of my classes in a mask. I can speak loudly and clearly enough for all of my students to hear. I see absolutely no reason @PremierScottMoe & Merriman need to take their masks off to speak to the press except to blow their little dog whistles.
@schmutzie@CarlaMeckelborg If it is purposeful, is it because they think we won’t notice? Do they underestimate the people of SK that much? It feels insulting actually.
As Saskatchewan teachers, kids, HCWs, first responders are ALL being mowed down by COVID, #SK bars & nightclubs STILL at 100% capacity.
We're prioritizing the comfort & convenience of privileged adults OVER the health of our citizens.
Ethically, there's NO WAY to justify that.
Today I am also calling upon my fellow citizens to pay attention to how the Minister's action may ultimately erode the quality of healthcare you may receive. If the integrity of our publicly funded healthcare system is eroded, we will all suffer! (21/21)
Have concerns about getting a #COVID19vaccination? Talk them over with your doctor. They’re here to listen, without judgment, and answer all your questions.
@ayoubdangor Hola, please find the unroll here: As a Saskatchewan citizen I invested an enormous amount of time &… https://t.co/Rajr2L8cHh Enjoy :) 🤖
The SHA Board selected Scott Livingstone as its inaugural CEO. Trained as a pharmacist, Scott had served as the CEO of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency prior to his appointment as SHA CEO. I have always had & still have a very high regard for Scott's leadership (10/21)
As a Saskatchewan citizen I invested an enormous amount of time & energy into the process that culminated in the creation of the SHA. I am deeply concerned about some of the things that are currently happening at the SHA. I believe all citizens should be concerned (1/21)
I am thankful that Dr. Shahab kept his KN95 mask on throughout the time he was in the Radio Room with @PremierScottMoe . Hopefully, in future. Premier Moe will wear a KN95 mask and keep it n while speaking - they make a difference!
