We have had inspectors in our school this week, the stress for us all has been enormous. Sleep loss, constant headaches, fear of failure. We survived, not everything teachers do is measurable. We are so tired.
@whatSFSaid I’m doing a course with the Scottish Book Trust on exactly this, celebrate and encourage comics, graphic novels, shared reading and anything that inspires children to read. It all improves literacy skills, attainment and wellbeing. Thank you from a teacher.
When youngsters are given the responsibility of a nurturing, supportive and leadership role, they shine. I’m very proud of my Primary 5 class and love being their teacher.
It's not surprising that politicians do awful stuff, naff stuff, foolish stuff, embarrassing stuff, negligent stuff. What's surprising is that they go on and on and on justifying what they've done or lying about it. Or both.
@MichaelRosenYes I’ve registered for the resource pack on behalf of my school, teacher colleagues are enthusiastic. Chocolate Cake read by you is still my go to poem to enthuse children, never fails. Roll on November 13th.
@MichaelRosenYes Thank you for making them freely available to teachers, it is appreciated in a world where not a lot is free. We teachers use your work regularly, it helps, it is excellent and it contributes to children's love of words. That matters
