There is big overlap between the people who think it’s an intolerable invasion of privacy to detect the sound of a gunshot in an urban area and those who think it’s perfectly reasonable and understandable that CPS should be allowed to take your kids while they do an open ended investigation of your home life.

The reason for this is not mysterious. Nobody has any principles. It’s entirely who/whom.
