When people say that immigrants should adopt "our" culture. They ARE our culture.

Rock and roll, jazz, country, blues, and most of our music was derived from "Call and response," which came from Africa.

Irving Berlin, who wrote the song "God Bless America," was born in Russia.

Our food comes from Europe and all over the world. Apple pie comes from Holland. Burgers and hot dogs come from Germany. Pizza comes from Italy. Barbecue and most "southern food" came from slaves.

Sitcoms are derived from vaudeville, which was brought by the Irish and many other immigrants. Hollywood and Broadway are what they are because of Eastern European Jews.

Sports? Baseball was inspired by cricket. American football came from rugby. Basketball was invented by a Canadian.

Our railroads were built by the Chinese, Mexicans, freed American slaves, the Irish, and other immigrants.

The New York City skyline was largely built by Italian immigrants.

Science? Einstein and Tesla were immigrants. Andrew Grove, who we owe for the semiconductor, came from Hungary. Sergey Brin, from Russia, cofounded Google.

Levi Strauss, from Germany, gave us denim. Jonas Salk, whose parents were immigrants, gave us the polio vaccine. Ukraine's Selma Waksin developed the first treatment for tuberculosis.

More recently, Katalin Karikó helped develop mRNA vaccines.

John Shalikashvili, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, came from Poland.

And you know something about every wave of immigrants? There were people then, just like now, who complained they would never assimilate.

American culture isn't something immigrants assimilate TO; it is the assimilation OF immigration.

I stood at this pool, at both monuments and saw both reflections…
He’s a God damn idiot, as are the fools that support him. The “Reflection Pool” wasn’t designed by American architect Henry Bacon a hundred years ago to look like a swimming pool. It’s designed to have a darkened characteristics that has reflective qualities to reflect the monuments.
That way, the Washington Monument is reflective to you when at the Lincoln Memorial, and when at the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial is reflective to you.
It’s designed to enhance the grandeur of monuments, create an illusion of reflection, and inclusion of expansive space of unity.
He’s a tacky vulgar person that vulgarizes everything he touches. America isn’t becoming great, it’s becoming vulgar.
