@TanyaEverywhere There IS a lot of housing injustice in Brooklyn. This “dirty gentrifier”
DID move out, tho unsurprisingly that didn’t do much to move the needle toward equity. But attacking one of the pitifully few organizations doing something about it is maybe not the most effective tactic?
@TanyaEverywhere Also it seems like maybe you misplaced a decimal point when you read the invite—tickets cost $150, not $1500. But if that’s still too much I can offer you an even more deeply discounted ticket. We really want new people at this event so they can learn all about the work we do!
@TanyaEverywhere If you think we’re “doing it wrong” and you have a better solution, I’d also be glad to begin the process of interviews to have you join the Board of Trustees. We really need people who are passionate about helping this population!
@TanyaEverywhere Tanya if you’d like to take a look at the annual budget for this organization and the specific budget for event I’d be happy to show it to you.
@XfinitySupport Thanks for your reply; unfortunately your customer service rep was so rude to me on the phone that we're switching to a different service provider.
@XfinitySupport could you please help me set up an appointment to restore our internet following the massive snowstorm that hit New England? After 45 minutes on hold I was told the soonest someone could get here is 3/27. Seriously?
Crawling out of my Twitter hole to share this list of my top 5 YA books about girls who rock, where I got to gush about @goldywrites, @SarahNSmetana, @lindsaychampion, @LeilaSalesBooks, and Riley Redgate. https://t.co/Fzn2GFH6zg
@moxieingreen That was certainly something that came up during my interviews, particularly in the 23-and-me era when it’s pretty easy to trace your genetic line. But this was a print piece, and there was only so much I could say in 1200 words.
My silly list that I mostly wrote on the subway is the #1 trending article on @mcsweeneys right now and I’m pretty sure this type of news is exactly what they invented Twitter for.
This morning I asked Alexa to play Erykah Badu. I then went to yoga, a coffee shop for work/coffee, and a cafe for work/lunch. Each played at least one Erykah Badu song.
What does it MEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAN?
Appreciation post Part 2! Thread.
WHEN THE BEAT DROPS by @heckerbooks is truly a rare treat. Tense, funny, sexy, heartbreaking, exciting--it is All. The. Things. The relationships are complex, rooted and surprising. This book also passes the Bechdel Test with flying colors. (1)
