Why Do Catholics Use the Crucifix?
Some ask, "Why not use an empty cross?"
The crucifix reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice and God's immense love for us.
"We preach Christ crucified." (1 Corinthians 1:23)
Catholics do not worship the crucifix; we worship Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross for our salvation.
The crucifix is a reminder of the price of our redemption.
Mary did not draw attention to herself; she always pointed people to Jesus.
At Cana, her simple instruction remains a guide for every Christian:
“Do whatever He tells you.” (John 2:5)
To love Mary is to follow her example of humility, obedience, and complete trust in God.
"In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that divine heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone and for each of us as individuals."
– St. John Paul II
Evening prayer
Let us pray 🙏
Father,
in your loving plan
Christ your Son became the price of our salvation.
May we be united with him in his suffering
so that we may experience the power of his resurrection
in the kingdom
where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
— Amen.
Blessing
May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life.
— Amen.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, remind us that no one is forgotten in God's loving plan. Wrap us in your mantle, strengthen our faith, and lead us always to your Son, Jesus Christ
