@ChristiFriesen Apparently the proper way to do it is to use a ground rod/plate outside and run a cable inside just for your grounding sheets or mat

The most popular sheets sellers get you to use the ground circuit on your electrical outlet but I have come across some that say that is actually causing an electrical field in your bed which counter acts the grounding benefit.
