@WaleMicaiah WHO are those in GOVT in Nigeria?
👆🏾NIGERIANS!
I've stopped seeing Leaders like super humans, they're just like the ordinary/average Nigerian in thought & actions.
The thing is the average Nigerians real grouse is that he/she isn't the one with direct access to the cookie jar!
At the end of the day, we all need to understand that life is unscripted....we can only control the impact of our actions and inactions. We have mo control over what others do.....but if we all act in unison towards positively impactful actions, we will witness our desired future
@EzeAyoka Let's all keep holding everyone one accountable... Lagos state included...and especially for me Ogun state. We all just want a nation that is progressing.
@EzeAyoka I think this is beyond tribe and ethnicity, though. The Nigeria we want really needs every state to start pulling their weight in developmental strides. Tax law requires you pay within your state of residence. Unfortunately, that won't be changing soon.. Thanks for paying though
Even the educated and well-read of us falls for media headlines and click bait. How do we imbibe the culture of reading the article and not just headlines. A change of direction is required.
No please! 🙏 Let’s Concentrate on boosting supply not controlling demand. We can’t really control demand in the near term without once again widening the fx gap and worsening confidence. Anytime we try to forcefully control anything it often leads to an increase in its price.
@EzeAyoka@egi_nupe Yes, the number s are more in lagos, but in the context of the while, country lagos is less than 10%. So, we also need the remaining 90% to speak out in their respective state of residence. Else, Lagos continues to be developed and overpopulated while other states remain backward
...rate and disbursed in Naira. Since we spend Naira within the country. If sent to domiciliary accounts, the foreign currency is kept within. A fee should then be charged for cash FX withdrawals. A lot of the big IMTO players have now started direct remittance to Nigeria.
This has already been happening for a long time. A lot of people convert their dollars to naira before disbursing to those in need. Since the exchange rates as of today are almost the same, this wouldn't be a problem. Forex sent to Naigeria is converted based on the prevailing..
You don't need a soothsayer to see that this will result in Nigerians avoiding formal money transfer avenues & diaspora remittances will drop badly.
APC is a case study in how to do everything wrong.
When we ask for more accountababilty at the state level, people do not agree. The states are the route to which Nigeria improves it living standards like every other developed country's do. We need our states to do a lot more.
🇳🇬HOW VAT IS SHARED
FIRS collects VAT and keeps 4% of total collection
96% balance goes to the VAT Pool and shared as follows:
- Federal Govt takes 15% of 96%
- 36 State Govts take 50% of 96%
- 774 Local Govts take 35% of 96%
*FG shares 1% of its 15% to the FCT

I think we need to start teaching basic government in primary and secondary schools. The lack of knowledge on governance displayed on this app is alarming. We can not make the change without the right knowledge of who to old responsible.
In a country with difficult economic problems with huge inflation across all sectors. The president is away in France. How do we expect the people to trust the government process. No media conference accessible to most media since inauguration... the presidency needs to sit up.
@OpeBee@zbnfam @annie_etc_ A lot more clarity is actually important... my thought is that d CBN doesn't want Fintechs that provide some banking or payment functions to also play as IMTO agents. They might want a clear demarcation between IMTO & financial services or a collaboration with distinct functions.
I really like how this theory deliberately ignores Yaradua and Jonathan before getting to Buhari. Anyway, compounding interests make you the best money in the same way it leads to the worst financial decisions.
My theory is this.
Obasanjo cleared most of our debts from Paris Club with NOI help and Nigeria enjoyed relatively calm debt burden.
Ok Buhari comes along and goes on a borrowing spree.
Let me explain in simple terms again.
Nigeria gets dollar from sale of crude, dollar flows in massively.
Naira should strengthen Yh because dollars is everywhere (over-supply) but we started taking huge loans.
Loans means dollars comes in, mostly for infrastructure projects, big companies like Julius Berger get this money, of course they send this money back to their mother land.
Now the sale of crude money (which should make us have excess dollar) is used in repaying back loans, sending dollar out of the system.
3/4 of our income was used to service loans under Buhari. The most in history. Of course, he keeps taking more and more and more and more just to keep up. Naira gets weaker and weaker due to the last paragraph.
Then he does the absolute madness of printing N23trn which makes naira over surplus and basically like tissue paper. Naira further weakens. Of course dollar strengthens and strengthens.
Hope that helps.
@Mayoroflasgidi It's just annoying everyday on how low people are willing to go for politicians who do not regard them at all. Definitely most are worst than the what they preach.
@Mayoroflasgidi This fight started with his supporters ooh. It's a fight between political supporters, that do not understand where to draw a difference between plotics and real life.
