This will be my first full day teaching after returning to work from maternity leave or I’d try and come. Wonderful to see book launch events popping up…any London friends do try and make it. WomenEd events are always so uplifting 😀
We are hosting our first event of the new academic year at the wonderful Forest School.
We will be celebrating the launch of @WomenEd ‘s third book ‘Disruptive Women’ with speakers including the London Network Leaders and chapter authors!

It also outlines the benefits & importance of #flexibleworkinginschools@nfer funded by @EducEndowFoundn says flex could help address the recruitment crisis and proposes options such as phased retirement, flexible hours, personal days and some remote working
Do you believe that being a headteacher is an all-or-nothing position? Or can #flexibleworking be effective for those in the top job? Neil Renton – @HarrogateGS – describes headteacher Mike Roper’s flexible working insights: https://t.co/fbHGHRI7qi #edutwitter#teaching
Still time for ITT mentors to take part in this important research. Effective mentor training is so important! Please encourage any mentors you know to have a look at this and share. Thank you! @JonnyUttley @HallamTSA@SheffieldSCITT @RKLTPeople @MrKAdams_ @michael_merrick
@MrHBio26@mtpt_project@EHP89@richkbristol Please can I ask if you managed to get enhanced contractual/ occupational pay for any of your period of SPL please? And/ or to share your trust/ school SPL policy if you’re able? Thank you! Working on this with a local trust who don’t currently have a policy. Can share my email.
One of the things that is making me really happy at the moment is the number of settings championing & embracing continuous provision models beyond EYFS. CogSci is a fascinating & important evidence base but so is child development & play. Both should inform provision & pedagogy
This is so valuable. We’ve managed a couple of local school visits/ university links with primary and secondary school recorder players. I’m trying to do more outreach projects, connecting schools and their musicians with each other to get more live performances in schools!
Two musical assemblies this morning featuring students from @RoyalAcadMusic The children listened intently to the flute and the piano. Beautiful music. Thank you @mrjulianwest for helping to make this happen. About 400 children experienced high quality live music today.
@emma_au_soleil Make sure you have proper warm waterproofs and get outside! Never fails to make me feel better over the winter months no matter what the weather is doing. And candles, baking then eating said baking while snuggled under blankets.
@mscofino We are so pleased that many more authors are writing about women’s leadership in education. There were none we could find beyond more academic orientated books when we first published #10percentBraver. Now writing our 3rd, so here’s a present from our publishers!
Deeply concerned at the news that the @E_N_O is planning to axe 19 musician jobs. The @E_N_O does great work and its orchestra is brilliant. The blame for this must lie with @ace_national which has imposed swinging funding cuts on the ENO. Disgraceful @ISM_music
I love that partners are considered too and can have paid time off to be there when needed. Yes, much of this is a women’s issue, but we need support and that means men/ fathers need good family friendly policies too that enable them to be supportive.
Already had my local @OasisAcademies school on my 'would deffo work there' list after seeing them advertise an AHT role with part time hours available. These policies seal the deal! Bravo 👏 have you seen this @mtptproject ? #lifefriendlyschools
