I'm learning to build tools, connect with solopreneurs and founders, and make my first dollar online.
My goals for 2026:
- Ship 1 AI tool
- Get my first paying user
- Make my first $1
For now, I want to build a community and follow builders, share my learnings and opinions.
@randomrecruiter When one has to make a decision that make or break something, it's easier to put blame on some AI tools that decides for them. That way, if something breaks, you can just blame on AI.
A Japanese manga artist lost his entire Google account forever after he uploaded private files from an old comic he drew to Google Drive.
Googleโs AI checked the files and flagged them as not allowed. He asked Google to review it again, but they rejected his appeal and banned the account immediately.
He can no longer access years of his private drawings and lost access to many websites and services that used his Google login.
The artist said this is very embarrassing and causes him a lot of trouble. He warned that it might not happen to people who always follow every rule, but others should be careful.
So Google is scanning files that people upload to its cloud storage even if they are supposed to be private. I wonder how long they have been doing this.
I was on a nostalgia trip when I reminisced about middle school when I used to spend my free time on creative hobbies like clay modeling, origami, painting, etc. I feel like now is the time I bring back those hobbies. With all the AI slop, I think it's time to switch off the desktops and phones, and just take out a brush or chisel and make something for the peace of mind. Doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to give you satisfaction, like watching a beautiful cloudy sky.
@velodus Yahoo was a big thing back when Google was at its infancy. We might see history repeating itself? But then other search engines exist and they don't do as good of a job as Google search does.
@THETECHBOYorg@SourabhGurwani I wouldn't say opposed, more like a force of habit. I do that ". com" behaviour on other social media websites when making posts or adding comments. So I brought that over here.
@AlexNoonan6 It's frustrating when people base opinions on outliers and not on the general trends.
It's not 6 yrs, it's 3. A managerial role in 3 years.
I wouldn't even imagine myself getting to a senior role in that duration.
Devlog - 18/05/2026:
- I realised my idea was too saturated and would need something too unique to make something.
- I decided I will spend a week or so just scouring through X, Reddit, Product Hunt, etc., to see what works.
- Wish me luck.
It was bad, but with all this AI slop, I'm starting to tolerate the style much better. AI art is the new corporate Memphis. It's a weird thing where the thing that you hated for so long started to feel bearable because you found something else that's much more hated than the previous one.
