Banks just took back 5,794 homes in a single month.

That's August, per ATTOM. Up 42% from a year ago. Up 22% from July.

Here's what most people don't understand about that number:

A repossession is the final stage of foreclosure. The lender has already sent the notices, the homeowner has already fallen behind, the auction has already failed. The bank takes the keys.

That process takes months. Sometimes over a year.

Which means August's repossessions reflect missed payments that started long before anyone was paying attention. And the people falling behind today won't show up in this data until next year.

So when you see a 22% jump in one month, you're not seeing the start of the problem.

You're seeing the part that finally became impossible to hide.

The question isn't whether this keeps climbing. It's how much is already in the pipeline that we can't see yet.

He talks about a book transfer. What is a stablecoin if not book transfers with a rule that only certain accounts can create/redeem? Stablecoins can freeze assets.

JP and other tokenized deposits can participate in DeFi if they meet an asset issuer’s requirements no different from stables that cannot if the issuer freezes the wallet.
